Mason Signee Has Strong Showing at Capital Classic

April 17, 2008

The 2008 Capital Classic was played on Sunday evening at College Park, Md. and one future Patriot had a very prominent role in the game. Andre Cornelius, a point guard from Victory Christian High School in Charlotte, N.C. played for the U.S. All-Stars and he made the most of his starting role in the game. Cornelius signed a national letter-of-intent to play at Mason beginning in fall of 2008.

Cornelius helped led the U.S. All-Stars to a 123-85 victory by scoring 13 points, handing out eight assists and coming away with four steals. Those impressive stats came despite just 16 minutes of action. Now member of the U.S. All-Stars played more than 22 minutes.

Cornelius was one of six players to participate in the game to be named to the All-Tournament Team. He is one of four high school seniors that signed in November to play for Mason beginning this coming season.
