Fairfax, Va.--Three George Mason University men's soccer players received Colonial Athletic Association accolades for their efforts during the 2004 season as announced by the conference office Thursday night at the banquet on the eve of the semifinals and the finals of the CAA Men's Soccer Championship.

For the third-straight year, senior goalkeeper John O'Hara (Foxford, Ireland) represents Mason on the All-CAA First Team. O'Hara started all 19 games and logged 1,780 minutes in the net during the 2004 campaign for the Patriots as he garnered a goals against average of 1.21. O'Hara closed out the 2004 season fifth in the conference in saves (71), tied for fifth in shut-outs (5), seventh in save percentage (74.7%) and seventh in saves per game (3.74). Prior to the start of the season, O'Hara was tabbed as a Third Team Preseason All-America.

In his second season with Mason, junior forward Teba McKnight (Couva, Trinidad) earned All-CAA Second Team honors. McKnight played in 18 games in 2004 and closed out the season first among teammates in points (20), tied for first in goals (7) and second in assists (6). Among his conference peers, McKnight finished the 2004 regular season tied for fourth in points, points per game (1.11) and goals, while he also closed the year tied for second in game-winning goals (3) and tied for sixth in assists. McKnight was the only Patriot to be named CAA Player of the Week in 2004 as he first earned the honor on Sept. 20 and then again on Oct. 4 as he shared the honors with VCU's, Saul Montero. McKnight was also named Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Player of the Week on Oct. 8 for his efforts against Delaware and Towson as he scored four goals and tallied one assist to amass nine points during that week.

Freshman defender Brian Barry-Austin (S. Orange, N.J.) was named to the All-CAA Rookie Team for his efforts in his first season with the Patriots. Barry-Austin played in 15 games during the 2004 season and helped Mason amass four shut-outs on the year.

Virginia Commonwealth University junior forward Dominic Oduro (Accra, Ghana), who led the Colonial Athletic Association in goals and points this season, has been selected as the 2004 CAA Men's Soccer Player of the Year in voting by the league's head coaches. Top honors also went to VCU senior back Gonzalo Segares (San Jose, Costa Rica) as the CAA Defender of the Year, University of Delaware freshman forward Sobhan Tadjalli (Hockessin, Del.) as CAA Rookie of the Year and UNC Wilmington head coach Aidan Heaney as CAA Coach of the Year.

Eight of the 10 CAA teams had at least one player selected to the All-CAA first team. Regular-season champion VCU had three players named to the All-CAA first team, with senior midfielder Simon Toselli (Bordeaux, France) joining Oduro and Segares. Also making the squad were Delaware's Tadjalli, sophomore midfielder Kurt Morsink (San Jose, Costa Rica) and junior defender Dan Sheridan (Washington, D.C.) from James Madison, Hofstra junior forward Michael Todd (Cleveland, England), Old Dominion senior midfielder Kevon Harris (Kingston, Jamaica), William & Mary junior midfielder Patrick Scherder (Vienna, Va.), UNC Wilmington sophomore defender Russell Bienias (Raleigh, N.C.) and O'Hara, who earned first team All-CAA honors for the third time.

The Patriots closed out the 2004 campaign with a 7-11-1 overall record and a 3-6 mark in conference play.
