2004 Outdoor: Ran exclusively in the 3,000-meter steeplechase... Ran the fourth-fastest time in school history in first competition, finishing at the Raleigh Relays in 13:35.63... Was 11th in the event at the Terrapin Invitational and had best finish of the year at the Patriot Open, finishing 11th in 13:40.26... Made the Dean's List and the Athletic Director's Honor Roll both semesters for excellence in the classroom... Earned the CAA Commissioner's Academic Award... Named a George Mason Scholar-Athlete.

2004 Indoor: Competed at three different distances for the Patriots with one top-10 finish and three top-15 finishes... Was ninth in the 3,000 meters at the Patriot Games with a time of 11:21.38... Was 12th at the same distance at the Collegiate Open in a time of 11:23.90... Ran the team's second-best time of the season in the 5,000 meters at the Virginia Tech Indoor Invitational, finishing 12th with a time of 20:06.71... Competed in the mile at the Father Diamond Invitational, finishing in 5:43.44.

2004 X-Country: Competed in four events... Posted season-best time of 22:59 (93rd) at the Towson Invitational... Recorded best finish of 61st (23:15.72) at the Mason Invitational... Placed 74th at the CAA Championships in 27:14.40 and was the fifth Patriot to finish... Ran 23:00 (92nd) at the George Washington Invitational... Received the CAA Commissioner's Academic Award.

Prep: Earned a letter in indoor track, outdoor track and soccer and three letters in cross country... As a senior, 4X800-meter relay team of which she was a part was named All-State... Won the Most Improved Award in cross country as a senior.

Personal: Born on February 10, 1985... Parents are Susan and Christopher Young... Has two brothers, Kyle and Joshua... 2002 graduate of Hayfield Secondary School... Was her school's valedictorian and won the science fair... Also won her school's Math and Science Award and was on the Honor Roll for four years... Was Vice President of the National Science Honor Society and was in the National Honor Society... Enjoys reading and playing the flute... Majoring in biology with a minor in psychology.
